Our story
Daniel Blackwell at age 19 started working as a Saturday boy for Classic Brass ironmongery in Southend on Sea in 1999, where for the first time he developed a understanding and a love for architectural hardware, he loved the idea that every house has its own character and the door handles play a part in the design, feel and history of the home.
After working Saturdays for a year he was employed full time to run the Southend shop and soon become the manager and then director, after 24 years it was time for Daniel to move away from the retail market and London Architectural Hardware was started with his sister Hollie with the aim to create a company that can design and manufacture luxury hardware to exclusive projects, with the tools, professionalism and experience to work with designers, architects and clients to supply the perfect range of hardware that seamlessly flow from room to room for their project.

I’m very proud of the products and projects we have design and supplied since we started and the best part is all our work comes from recommendations or referrals.

Commercial Director
I love my job ... but Daniel is my older brother and I have to say that! … haha, I do love my job and that’s true, I enjoy the amazing projects we work on and love the design side of the business, where we make a handle from an idea, then it’s amazing to then see on a project.

St. Pauls Cathedral
I had the honour of being part of the refurbishment of St Paul’s Cathedral. The present cathedral, dating from the late 17th century, was designed in the English Baroque style by Sir Christopher Wren. Its construction was part of a major rebuilding programme in the city after the Great Fire of London and the dome has now dominated the skyline for over three hundred years, becoming a London icon.
LAH supplied new ironmongery for the refurbishment of the original doors and frames, ensuring that the design was still in keeping with the finish and feel of St Paul's but was up to date with British standards, fire regulations and could withstand the large number of tourists visiting every year.
